Project Karinya
DESIGN CONCEPT
This project explores a contemporary interpretation of the traditional gable form, reimagined through a modern material palette and a strong emphasis on natural light and texture. The dual dwelling design seeks to create a cohesive architectural statement while offering individual identity to each home through subtle variations in form and detail.
A rich palette of brick, timber, and metal cladding combine to create a layered façade that feels grounded yet light creating a tactile, timeless aesthetic. The expansive glazing captures natural light throughout the day, while the sculped roof silhouette frame striking views of the surrounding landscape.
At street level, the design introduces a strong, elevated base, integrating garage and entry zones within a brick podium that grounds the building. Above, metal-lined volumes extend outward to form sheltered balconies, establishing a layered façade that engages with the streetscape and provides moments of privacy and openness.
The result is a modern, enduring residential form—celebrating proportion, material authenticity, and the beauty of light, space, and simplicity.
