Project Amaroo
DESIGN CONCEPT
The design presents a contemporary townhouse that harmoniously balances robust materiality with refined modern detailing. The use of red brick anchors the building to its suburban context, referencing traditional residential materials while its dark metal cladding and expansive glazing introduce a modern, sophisticated edge.
At street level, the articulated façade combines solid and transparent elements, creating visual rhythm through the interplay of brick piers, recessed entries, and landscaped buffers. The upper level, defined by bold rectilinear volumes, provides a strong contrast to the grounded brickwork below, achieving a balanced composition of mass and lightness.
Sustainability and spatial quality are enhanced through integrated greenery at the first-floor balconies, allowing a soft transition between the built form and the natural surroundings. The landscape design complements the architecture with low-maintenance planting and timber screening, reinforcing privacy and connection to nature.
Overall, the design aspires to create a timeless modern townhouse that merges warmth, functionality, and urban elegance—responding sensitively to its neighbourhood character while offering residents a contemporary and enduring home.
